Accessibility

The standard we aim at

MambaTech Services aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across www.mamba-tech.co.ke. Article 54 of the Constitution of Kenya recognises the right of persons with disabilities to access facilities and services, and the Persons with Disabilities Act gives effect to it. We treat an accessible website as part of that, not as an optional extra.

This statement describes work we have done and verified ourselves. No independent accessibility audit has been carried out, and we do not claim one.

What has been done

Seeing

• Every text and background pairing on the site was measured against the WCAG contrast formula. All body text meets at least 4.5:1 and all large display text meets at least 3:1.
• Text is set in real text, never in images, so it reflows and rescales with your browser settings. The layout holds when text is enlarged.
• Colour is never the only way information is conveyed. Where a state is shown in colour, it is also shown in words or position.
• Focus indicators use two rings in opposite tones, so they remain visible on both the light and the dark sections of the site.

Keyboard and pointer

• Everything interactive can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
• A skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the main content, past the navigation.
• The sector selector is a standard tab pattern: arrow keys move between tabs, Home and End jump to the first and last, and only one tab sits in the tab order.
• The site index panel keeps focus inside itself while open, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
• Targets are large enough to hit comfortably on a touch screen.

Screen readers and structure

• Pages use one main heading and a nested heading structure beneath it, so a screen reader's heading list is a usable outline of the page.
• Landmarks are used properly: a banner, a main region, navigation regions that are individually named, and a footer.
• Every control has a name. Buttons that show only an icon carry a written label for assistive technology.
• Decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced as meaningless graphics.
• Form fields have visible, permanently associated labels. Errors are announced, described in words, and attached to the field they belong to.
• The page language is declared, so text is pronounced correctly.

Motion and preferences

• Motion on this site is limited to short fades and small movements. Nothing flashes, loops, autoplays, parallaxes or moves under the cursor.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, all animation and smooth scrolling is switched off rather than merely shortened.
• There is no carousel, no modal that appears uninvited, and no time limit on anything.

Without JavaScript

• All content is readable with scripting disabled. Sections that would otherwise animate into view are simply present.
• The sector selector becomes four sections one after another rather than a tab strip, so nothing is trapped behind an interaction.
• The enquiry form submits normally and returns a plain confirmation page.

How it was tested

• Contrast was measured programmatically across every page, resolving the computed colour of each text element against its actual background, rather than checked by eye against the palette.
• Keyboard operation of the tab pattern, the site index panel and the form was exercised in an automated browser.
• Every page was loaded with JavaScript disabled to confirm the content is complete without it.
• Pages were checked for horizontal overflow at a 390px viewport width.

Testing with actual assistive technology, by people who rely on it, has not yet been done. That is a real gap, and the section below says so.

Known limitations

• No user testing. The site has not been tested by people using screen readers, switch access or voice control in their normal way. Automated checks catch a minority of real accessibility problems.
• No independent audit. Our conformance claim is self-assessed.
• Documents. Any PDF or document we send you separately is not covered by this statement. Ask and we will provide the content in another format.
